Research Theme I: Sturgeon Eco-physiology

Understanding ‘Living Dinosaurs’

Sturgeons are among the most ancient animals on the planet, but also unfortunately among the most threatened. However, understanding aspects of their life history may help us better conserve these ancient fishes. My research investigated aspects of their basic life history (i.e., how they develop salinity tolerance to migrate from natal rivers to the ocean) and conservation efforts (i.e., swimming performance to improve fishway design)
